PC BF3 Beware

To all those planning on buying BF3 on the PC. Origin which is used to run and launch the game can and does scan your entire hard drive. They are collecting data on you. Course it doesn't hurt that they can find any pirated software with this method also. According to the TOS they have every right to.

I won't even install Origin on my HD for battlelog.

Currently Germany is suing EA over this.

That's shocking... Thanks Ser9ph. The majority of my hard drive is questionably-acquired movies and TV shows. Wasn't planning on getting BF3 for PC (my machine would never run it), but good to know. Presumably the scanning only happens if you use Battlelog to launch PC games, not to check stats / join LoS etc as a PS3 player? Cheers man

Actually when I checked my stats on Battlelog, the bottom of my screen asked me to install Origin. I said no. I'm not taking any chances.
